Eddie Merla, PMP, is the founder and owner of Duende Project Management Services.
He has over 20 years of hands-on Project Management experience. He has over seven
years experience leading international consulting engagements and projects. He has
implemented Project Management Offices (PMO’s) for multiple organizations and in
multiple industries.
Eddie Merla has managed project budgets and programs up to $150 million and 200
personnel. His project management experiences include North America, Europe, the
Middle East, Mexico, and Asia. He has assisted clients with the implementation of
project management strategies and best practices. He also implemented organizational
structures to support large projects and organizations to improve delivery of project and
program results.
As a trainer and coach, Eddie Merla has trained several thousand project management
professionals throughout the world on project management, leadership and soft skills
topics. He has been a frequent speaker at the Project Management Institute (PMI®)
both at the local level and at the International level. He has been a PMI® speaker at the
North American Global Congress, the EMEA Congress, and at the Latin America Global
Congress. He has delivered seminars in nine different countries.
Eddie is also active with Toastmasters International. He has achieved the Distinguished
Toastmaster (DTM) award, the highest educational award that can be earned by an
individual Toastmaster, three times. He is currently serving the Houston District
Toastmasters (District 56) as the District Governor and has previously held the offices of
Area Governor, Division Governor, Lt. Governor of Marketing, and Lt. Governor of
Education and Training.
